Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, or the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Deuteronomy 31:6

1st Grade Classroom

Dear Awesome First Grade Families,

I wanted to start out with a prayer-
Lord of Peace,
Fires leave scars not only on the land but also on the hearts of those affected. Grant emotional resilience to those dealing with trauma. Replace their fear with faith and their despair with joy. In Your name, we pray. Amen.

During this time of difficulty I wanted to express my condolences for anyone who has been affected by the fires.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help or to make things better for your child/ family.  Last week, I was out due to some asthma related problems and plan to be back in full strength this week.  With that said, there are a few things to catch up on.

1) Monday we will be doing our make-up spelling test that was supposed to take place last Friday.  I attached a copy of the list of words so that you can take a moment to review them with your little one.

2) Due to my absence, homework did not go out as expected but will be sent home tomorrow.

3) We will be taking our important tests on Tuesday and Thursday.  Take a moment to talk to your little one about making good choices, trying their best and making sure they understand what the instructions are asking of them.  Make sure they eat breakfast and have plenty of rest the night before.

4) I do have packets that I can put together for any student who has missed.  Please let me know what you may need, and I will send it to the front office for pick up.

Please stay safe.  Hold your little ones close and value your time together.  Take care of yourselves.
Hugs,
Mrs. Neumann
